Airport Pickups
Whether it’s your first time coming to the Netherlands or even if you are a seasoned traveller, arriving in a new country can certainly be scary. That’s why ESN Breda’s Airport Pickups program is here to make your transition as smooth as possible! From greeting you at the airport with a friendly smile to helping you reach your destination, you’ll make new friends from the moment you land. Don’t let the stress of moving abroad get in the way of your excitement and instead let ESN Breda guide you into your new home!
Psst – one more thing: our volunteers can also help with picking up your key from your housing complex, such as Xior, Easystreet or any other! If you would like to know if we can pick up your key, don’t hesitate to contact us.

The Pick-Up Program is a welcoming service provided by ESN Breda for new students of Avans University of Applied Sciences and Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas). On the pick-up date, the volunteers will be standing at Schiphol and Eindhoven Airport to guide students in purchasing train tickets and finding their way to Breda or Den Bosch. Upon arrival at the train or bus station, volunteers will assist with bus tickets and escort students to their final destination.
As a Pick-Up Volunteer, you’ll be the first friendly face welcoming new students to the Netherlands. Your role involves:

Greeting students at the airport.

Helping them navigate ticket purchases and boarding trains.

Guiding them from Breda or Den Bosch stations to their accommodations or bus connections.

Your effort ensures a smooth, stress-free arrival for incoming students, while you enjoy free transportation, meals, and the chance to make new friends in a fun and rewarding environment.

To be picked up, fill out the designated form before the deadline. You’ll receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions. While the service is free, you must cover your own travel costs from the airport to your destination. Ensure your flight arrives by 17:30 to meet volunteers before 18:00 at the arrivals hall. "My experience of getting picked by the guys from ESN was great, they were really organized and helpful, shortly after my landing they called me to inform me about their position inside the airport, then helped me to get tickets and get inside the right train, when I arrived in Breda there were another group of guys that gave me the key of my apartment and they show me the map and the right bus to take, their service was excellent and extremely helpful!"
